This Ordinary is quite a bit out of my knowledge range and not my cup of tea so offering her up. Bike is as received, is restored, seems good, but not my restoration work. I got this bike form a Large Iver Johnson collection buyout and have just been appreciating it. Springfield Roadster is the beginnings / related or becomes Lovell Diamond and further Iver Johnson Bicycles. Definitely advancements for the times, you can also coast on this bike. Pedals and cranks work as a treadle, which is a pumping motion more than circular motion. Safety means the bike has a rake and consider safer the Original High Wheel / Ordinary bikes. This Bike is a nice representation of the last of the High Wheel / Penny Farthing / Ordinary era. Antique Springfield Roadster Safety Hi Wheel bike pretty sure from 1888 but may be 1889.
